For more than 100 years, directors and producers have turned to The Bahamas to provide the quintessential island settings that bring their projects to life. Four iconic James Bond films, two blockbuster installments in The Pirates of Caribbean franchise, and countless Shark Week episodes are just a few of the noteworthy projects filmed here. And more than a few actors have fallen in love with our islands, including Johnny Depp and Sean Connery, both of whom put down stakes in The Bahamas. Connery owned an estate in Lyford Cay near Nassau and Depp bought his own 45-acre private island in the Exumas.
