Bahamian director helms U.S. TV show
Bahamian director, Lavado Stubbs, will be at the helm of the next two episodes of the television show, "Johnson." Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 4, which were filmed in Nassau/Paradise Island, air on Bounce TV this Saturday and next Saturday at 8pm.
Deji LaRay, the show’s creator and star, said his team decided on having Stubbs lend his expertise to the film early in the planning process.
“We felt like it was important to make this show as authentic as possible,” said LaRay. “Authentic in terms of the writing of the show, making sure that we added key words that were familiar to the Bahamian people, making sure that the locations were places that were instantly recognizable.”
The show’s Bahamas locations include Downtown Nassau, Junkanoo Beach, and Clifton Heritage Park. According to LaRay, the selection of locations were part of Stubbs’ guidance as he ensured that producers made the right decisions at every step of the creative process.
Seasons 1 through 3 of "Johnson" can be found on Hulu. Season 4 will be added to the streaming platform in the near future.
